HOW TO USE
Always use non-chlorinated water when making any vermicompost/compost extracts, foliar teas, or weed/grass teas. Please note that chlorine will kill off any microbes.

There are two ways to off-gas chlorine. Stick a bucket of chlorinated water in the sunlight for 24-48 hours. Another way is to use an air pump to circulate air in a bucket for 12 hours to off-gas chlorine from the water.

Currently, we sell our vermicompost in 1/2-gallon units or 8 cups per bag (we add a little more vermicompost per unit to help with the settling and spills). We recommend a 1:1 ratio of extract solution to water for application. Use a bucket, watering can, or toxin-free sprayer to apply to the root zone, soil, or the tree's drip line.

Basic mixing directions: Use 2 cups of vermicompost for every 2 gallons of water for the liquid extract. Mix, stir, and strain. Add another 2 gallons of water. This mix will cover 7500 square feet. Apply once every 2 weeks during the growing season. Add more applications if the soil has low biological activity, pest, or disease pressure.

Application:

Indoor House plants: The best way to apply our vermicompost is to use 1 or 2 handfuls around the base of the plant, then water. Use this method once every 6 months or when the plant needs attention.

Transplants for vegetables, trees, or berry starts: Make the 1:1 liquid extract solution, dip the transplant until it is soaked, then place it in the planting hole.

Outdoor application: 1:1 ratio of extract solution. When using a spray nozzle, use a 400 micron nozzle.

4 gallons cover 7500 square feet: 2 cups of vermicompost + 2 gallons of water + another 2 gallons of water.

8 gallons will cover 1/4 acre: 4 cups of vermicompost + 4 gallons of water + another 4 gallons of water.

16 gallons will cover 1/2 acre: 8 cups or 1/2 gallon of vermicompost + 8 gallons of water + another 8 gallons.

32 gallons will cover 1 acre: 16 cups or 1 gallon of vermicompost + 16 gallons of water + another 16 gallons.
